The Unconventional German Light Bomber

The German BV 141 started development in 1937 with the idea of creating an aircraft which was meant to be a single engine, reconnaissance light bomber. The most distinctive feature is that it's asymmetrical. The aircraft featured an fuselage which was mainly the rotor and an engine which was the BMW 132 and in later versions BMW 801. The cabin for the crew of three was positioned on the right wing next to the fuselage. This unusual arrangement gave the observer an exceptional 360-degree field of view which was perfect for the aircraft's reconnaissance missions. The aircraft was never put in full production and approximately only thirty aircrafts were ever built.
