The First Double Decker Aircraft Breguet 761

Before the end of the Second World War the aviation manufacturer Breguet Aviation designed a revolutionary airliner which could transport over one hundred passengers. French designers and engineers succeeded and in 1949 the first Breguet 761 took flight fo the first time. The aircraft could hold up to 135 passengers which was achieved thanks to the bulky fuselage, four PRATT & WHITNEY 2800 engines. Although the Breguet 761 became the first double decker airliner, only twenty of them were ever built with its two other variations, the 763 and 765. This revolutionary aircraft was retired in 1971.
