Jacques Charles

In 1783 the Robert brothers and Jacques Charles launched the first hydrogen balloon. No One was on board of this balloon. This balloon flew for 45 minutes and when it landed it was destroyed by peasants from nearby village because it scared them and they did not know what a balloon was. In 1783 another hydrogen balloon flight happened but this time with Jacques Charles onboard. With his co-pilot Nicolas-Louis Robert the flight began in Paris. The balloon flew for 2 hours in a height of 550m. The flight was a success but Jacques Charles never flew again unlike the Robert brothers.
