Dogfight with AI Controlled F-16
United States Air Force has performed a first dogfight test with a AI controlled F-16 aircraft called X-62A Variable Stability In-flight Simulator Test Aircraft also known as VISTA. The test was performed by USAF Flight school and DARPA who called the test a success. Before test the AI had to perform defensive maneuvers which it did successfully, after that the AI engaged in a dogfight with a human pilot at almost 2000 km/h and getting close to each other as much as 600 meters. The USAF have decided not to comment who won the dogfight test, but it seems that VISTA had performed well enough.
