American Fighter Aircraft Thunderbolt

During the Second World War a company named Republic Aviation created one of the heaviest fighter aircrafts of its era. The Thunderbolt P-47 started production in 1941, the aircraft was designed to be a fighter aircraft and fighter bomber which was capable of operating in high altitudes. P-47 was powered by the PRATT & WHITNEY R-2800 engine, when it came to weapons the aircraft was equipped with 50 caliber machine guns and was capable carrying bombs weighing up to one thousand kilograms. Fully loaded the weight of P-47 was around eight tons. The production of the aircraft ended at the end of the war with over fifteen thousand aircrafts built during the war.
