Amelia Earhart is the first woman to fly across the atlantic. In 1928 Amelia Earhart was offered to fly with Wilmer Stultz across the atlantic but as a passenger. She accepted the offer but after the flight she decided she wanted to do it by herself. Four years later in 1932 she was ready to fly herself. Her flight began in Newfoundland in Canada. The flight lasted almost 15 hours but she managed to reach her destination in Culmore in Northern Ireland. That day Amelia Earhart in her plane Lockheed Vega 5B became one of the most famous people on the planet.
